Woodshire Update/Welcome

Woodshire Neighbors,

My name is Christian Gubitz and I’m pleased to serve as the Woodshire Civic Club President for 2022/2023. I’m joined by Gracie McClure (Vice President), Jon Le Grand (Treasurer), Bendi Saindon (Corresponding Secretary), and Mary Shapiro (Recording Secretary). We are all brand new to the Board and eager to serve.

I’d like to thank Edward Puente for his many years of service to the Civic Club. He has been integral in helping shepherd and close out the street construction and drainage improvements in our neighborhood. And thanks to the other former Board members for all their contributions.

We all know that Covid set many things back, this includes some of the great things the Civic Club had going a number of years ago, like neighborhood social events, regular newsletters, reoccuring club meetings, holiday decorating contests, yard of the month, an updated website, and so much more. It is our intent to bring all that back better than ever.

We also have some new goals including improving the entrances to our neighborhood, installing subdivision markers/signs, refreshing our Woodshire branding, cleaning up and beautifying Stella Link, performing neighborhood service projects, and the list goes on.

For those that have paid their dues, thank you! You have contributed to maintaining security protection, mosquito spraying, and enabling us to get going on rejuvenating many of the items mentioned above. We ask that each household contribute voluntary dues of at least $200. For those who intend to pay their dues please don’t delay, checks made out to “Woodshire Civic Club” can be mailed or dropped off to our Treasurer Jon Le Grand at 4115 Leeshire. Or dues can be sent to Woodshire Civic Club via PayPal to woodshirecc@gmail.com. We’re also exploring additional options like Venmo and Zelle to make it easier to pay.

But a special note to those who aren’t willing to pay dues at this time because they just haven’t seen the value as of late – I get it, and look forward to changing that mindset through demonstrated outcomes.

In the spirit of transparency, showing progress, and adhering to our bylaws we are targeting to have a Civic Club meeting on Wednesday May 18 pending confirmation from Linkwood Community CenterUnlike past meetings we will be sending a calendar invite to help people remember to attend. So once we have confirmation of the date & time we encourage you to please come and learn more about what we’re working on to benefit our neighborhood and share your feedback.

Thanks again and look forward to connecting!
