Woodshire Neighbors,
Thanks to everyone who attended our community meeting on July 16th! We had a lively discussion around the neighborhood survey results and upcoming deed restriction update process, we appreciate all the participation and input. The agenda and material we covered can be found in the Attachment section below.
If you have not already paid your civic club dues for 2025, please consider the following:
- Woodshire dues are affordable and have remained unchanged for almost 10 years! We’ve chosen to keep dues at $200 per year, a rate that has not increased in close to a decade and remains far below what other civic clubs and HOAs in the area charge. I’m personally not aware of another desirable Houston neighborhood that has lower dues than we do AND provides more services with an all volunteer group of resources as Woodshire does, and would challenge you to let us know of one so we can learn what their secret is 🙂
- The only way for this to be sustainable and for the math to work on keeping dues low long term is if everyone participates – if we continue to have almost half of the neighborhood not contributing we will be forced to look at raising dues, a step we don’t want to take, and one your dues paying neighbors who have already been benefiting you by in effect paying your way, definitely don’t!
- If you haven’t paid dues please be a good neighbor and do your part to support Woodshire: Contribute – Woodshire Civic Club
And finally, wanted to remind everyone that we have an Ice Cream Social coming up on August 1st at 6:30 PM at 4027 Mischire, see details here: Ice Cream Social – Woodshire Civic Club. We hope you can join us!
Thanks,
Christian Gubitz
President, Woodshire Civic Club
Unfortunately, we were not able to attend. After reading the information above, it really didn’t indicate how the “lively” discussion went. Nor did it outline the deed restriction update process. Is that information found anywhere that we can read?
Thanks again for all the work you all do and I agree that we need greater numbers of people paying into the club.
Hi Ken,
Thanks for your note. Did you review the meeting presentation that was linked to in the Attachment section? The Deed Restriction update process was outlined on slide 35. It is high level, but we are just at the beginning stages of the process, there will be much more information communicated in the months ahead. The survey results were also summarized in the meeting presentation. As you can imagine, there was a lot of discussion around some of the items because the results were being seen for the first time, but it was all productive discussion and will be summarized in the minutes provided at the next meeting. In the meantime, if there’s anything specific you’d like to discuss please contact me at president@woodshirecivicclub.org.
Thanks,
Christian
